Nothing is perfect. Theres always a trade off for everything. You gain something but you let go something.
The same as racket, you feel powerless with NR900 & feel sluggish with 88DP. Its trade of you had to accept & no one can run from it.
But we are human, we always find a way to solve our problem & its like you said, changing your grip position. There is also a trade of llike you mention, shorter reach.
So, i would say train to change racket grip dynamicly. Being a sledge hammer lovers, changing grip position are my magic to allow me survive fast double pace yet maintain my destructive smash. Changing grip position on different situation & adjust to it.
