Victor VE50 pro tension head issue?

So right from the get go I have had issues with the clamping tension head. It sounds like there may be springs in it but I am not sure.

I have put maybe 50 rackets on this machine since purchasing a year ago. Is there a specific way to lubricate or to maintain the tension head on this model?

The tension head comes back in but doesn’t actually let go of the string. I need to flick it back manually to release the clamp.
