Never really measured but does the string diameter change?

After you string a racket, pull tension on the string, does the diameter change? Maybe next experiment. I guess this question came up on one of my YouTube videos:

“mister what do you think about the pre weaving the string method before putting it in the machine? many stringer in my country usually do it that way, does it affect the string in any way?”
