Harun Raza has won December’s Babolat Community Spotlight Award

Regional Manager of the West Midlands Alex Lane told us:

‘Harun runs the UBA, United Badminton Association, and also does so much coaching and work in Birmingham for the grassroots of our sport. From junior sessions to No Strings to disability coaching, to running the UBA, and also helping out with YAE activities and events over the years.

‘He does plenty more than this too!’

Harun was overwhelmed when he received the award saying “Thank you so much to everyone at Babolat and Badminton England for noticing the work that not just me but also my colleagues do in the badminton community”.

“We just want to put a smile on all the kid’s faces here and let them have a place that they feel like they can be safe and protected in” Raza continued.”

“It was so difficult to get these sessions started due to safety restrictions and space but thanks to Badminton England and the funding we received, we were able to get sessions properly underway and built a massive disability community here.”

Harum works hard day in and day out to create a great badminton experience for all and has fully deserved this month’s Babolat Community Spotlight award.
