2024 YONEX U.S. JUNIOR SELECTION EVENT Prospectus Released (for Pan Am Junior Championships/BWF World Junior Championships)
USA Badminton is pleased to announce that the 2024 Selection Event will be held in Frisco, Texas over four days from March 29, 2024 to April 1, 2024 at Frisco Badminton. The Selection Event will be main draw with feed-in consolation or pool play based on the number of entries.
Each entrant will be required to play in a minimum of two USAB or BWF tournaments (junior or adult) in the 2023-2024 season (beginning after the 2023 Junior National Championships) prior to the Selection Event. While our intention is to not impose caps, in the circumstance that more entries are received than can be accommodated in the available court hours, events may be capped.
The event will be held to select the teams/players for the 2024 Pan Am Junior Championships (U19 Team Championships and U19, U17, U15, & U13 Individual Championships) and 2024 World Junior Championships (U19 Team Championships and U19 Individual Championships).
The results from this selection even may also be used to select USAB teams for any/other international events or camps, which may be scheduled later in the season or in the 2024-2025 season (prior to the 2025 Selection Event).
The Selection Event will be open to U.S. Citizens in the U13, U15, U17, and U19 age groups.
U11 will NOT be included at the Pan Am Junior Championships this year.
Fees for the 2024 Pan Am Junior Championships will need to be paid at the 2024 Yonex U.S. Junior Selection Event to USA Badminton by check. On the last day of the Selection Event, all players who would like to be considered for the PAJC must submit a $160 PAJC Participation Check and a $240 PAJC Confirmation Check. These checks are forfeited if the athlete is unwilling or unable to participate for any reason (anytime after submitting the check at the conclusion of the Selection Event).
