Went for VICTOR VSI training. Here’s what I’ve learned.
Some interesting points there, thanks a lot for sharing. So many inputs were only coming from the Yonex side over the past years, so it’s nice to get a different perspective.
Patterns: I’m 100% with you on this. As long as you have a solid techinque and workflow, the effect of the pattern used is negligible to non-existent given that everything else is the same (same stringer, same machine, same tension settings). The goal is just to get the strings in safely, consistently and without any of the common no-no’s like side-to-side mains or doing double pulls on working strings.
Did they advise you to use the awl on shared holes? Yonex is heavily pushing to use the string mover method afaik – which of course adds a lot of stress on the string and frame, especially with high tension jobs. I was very critical and actually scared of using an awl in these situations, but the more often I tried it (thanks @Alex82 for the encouragement), the easier it got.
Why did you do the double pull before the final knot? Was that an advise or was it simply due to limitations of the machine not allowing to clamp the topmost cross string?
