Number of Entries

Each Member is entitled, for every age group, to enter:

  • Singles – 4 males, 4 females
  • Doubles – 8 males (4 pairs), 8 females (4 pairs)
  • Mixed – 4 males + 4 females → total of 4 mixed doubles pairs

Selection Criteria When Entries Exceed Allotted Spots

Although we do not expect every age group or event to reach capacity, should more players/pairs express interest than there are spots available (for example, if more than four +35 players request to participate in Men’s Singles), the following criteria will be used for selection:

  • For U.S. Citizens & Non-U.S. Citizens for all Events (Singles/Doubles/Mixed):
    1. Citizenship Priority: U.S. citizens will be given priority over non-U.S. citizens when the entry cap for an age group is exceeded.
    2. Performance Ranking: When available, national ranking and past performance (including results from Asian/European Championships, BWF sanctioned tournaments, and prior world ranking) will be used to rank entries. Only performance from USAB sanctioned or BWF sanctioned tournaments will be considered.
    3. Time of Submission: If the number of entries remains above the cap after applying the above criteria, the remaining spots will be allocated based on the order in which entries were received (i.e., first-come, first-served).

The results of the Entry Request Form will be reviewed and used to guide which entries will proceed to the final submission stage, ensuring that all players meet both BWF and USAB criteria.
