Lee denied second round Lithuanian International spot

Leona Lee was denied a spot in the second round of the RSL Lithuanian International 2024 following a tough opening draw against No. 2 seed Joanne Ng.
The English talent lost two closely fought games 21-19 21-19 against the Malaysian, who secured two crucial game-winning points across 38 minutes.
Elsewhere Cholan Kayan made it through to the round of 16 but was denied a quarter-final spot in three games by Italy’s Enrico Baroni.
The 21-year-old overcame qualifier Eliel Melleri by coming from a game down to win 19-21 21-12 21-17 in the first round but was beaten 10-21 21-15 21-14 by Baroni.
Felix Wright made it through four qualifying rounds before losing to Mateusz Golas 21-7 21-9 in the round of 16.
Wright took the scalp of No. 2 men’s singles seed Joel Konig, coming back from a set down to win 7-21 21-19 21-18 on Friday.
And Bhavika Mistry managed to make it to the same stage before meeting top seeds Anna Kupca and Jekaterina Romanova, who came out on top 21-14 21-13 for a place in the quarter-finals.
