So I understand that crosses are tensioned approx 10% higher than mains, typically +2lbs for 20+lbs. Almost all info I find is about this.
One would thus assume this meant +2lbs for all cross strings throughout the racket.
I’ve came across some recommendation that the bottom 5 and top 3 cross strings use a lower tension like for the mains (i.e. +0lbs x5, +2lbs, +0lbs x3). Another stringer mentioned just the top 5 being lower (+0lbs?).
Why? Sweet spot size? Overall string bed tension distribution? Parabolic cross string lengths due to the isometric/oval frame head shape?
