2020,2021,2022 China Opens were Cancelled due to Pandemic. All eyes are on this Tournament after 3 year hiatus, especially a week after World Championships.

Men’s Singles:

Kunlavut Vittidsarn is entering this Tournament as New World Champion dethroning last Year Champion Viktor Axelsen. Here, he is in the same side of the draw to Viktor. If everything goes well, he may meet Viktor in Semifinals. Top Side draw looks extremely tough compared to Bottom, Indian Youngster Rajawat is slated to meet him in the opening round. If he passes through, possibly Prannoy awaits him . Some of the notable 1st round encounters are

Women’s Singles

An Se Young, new World Champion enters the Tournament as overwhelmingly favourite to win the title. Tai Tzu ying and Carolina Marin, one of these two girls may meet An se young in the semifinals. Other than that, there is nobody in the Top half who is capable of stopping Korean Bull Dozer.
Chen Yufei / Akane Yamaguchi ,from the bottom half, one of them is expected to meet AnSeYoung in the finals. WS discipline is more predictable nowadays.

Men’s Doubles

After disappointing outing in the World championships, Satwik/Chirag pair is entering into this Tournament as one among 4 or 5 Title Contenders. But their journey will be extremly tough as they are in the same quarters as that of the New World champions Kang/Seo from Korea and Olympics Champions Lee Yang/Wang chilin from Taipei. Alfian/Ardianto from Indonesia, after several dismal performances trying to focus this Tournament to regain their status. But,Wang Chang/Liang wei keng from China and World Championships Silver Medallist Kim Astrup/Anders Rasmussen from Denmark are on the way of Indonesians to the finals. Most Unpredictable category is Men’s Doubles nowadays.

Women’s Doubles

World Champions Chen qing chen/Jia Yifan enters the Tournament as overwhelmingly favourites. This Category is seeing a seesaw battle between 3 countries to capture the title. Japan,Korea and China are the 3 coutnries which had most success in this category this year than others. One of these 3 countries has a realistic chance of getting the title. Hope to see more countries step forward. Indonesia did well in this World Championships, Will they prove it again. Let’s wait and see.

Mixed Doubles

Unexpectedly, in this category, we have new World Champions from Korea , who will enter this Tournament to battle Chinese Number1 pair zheng Siwei/Huang Ya Qiong for the title. Now this category is becoming very interesting . But these two pair may meet each other in the Quarterfinal, so that only one will reach finals. Being said that, bottom half will see Yuta Watnabe/Arisa Higashino from Japan or Huang Dongping/Feng Yang zhe from China will fight it out to reach finals. We may expect Surprises from Robin Tabelling/Selena Paek and Thom Giquel/Delphine Delrue in the bottom half to make the tournament interesting.
