Despite Sofiat’s strong start, winning the first set 21-16, tragedy struck when she suffered an injury early in the second set. The match ended prematurely with Sofiat retiring at 1-1. This unfortunate incident was a tough blow for Nigeria, as Sofiat had shown great potential.

- Mixed Doubles (XD): The pair of Adham Hatem Elgamal and Doha Hany wasted no time, defeating Uganda’s Muzafaru Lubega and Husina Kobugabe with an impressive 21-10, 21-14 victory in just 30 minutes. Their synergy and sharp net play set the tone for Egypt’s dominance.
