Selecting the Best Halex Badminton Set for You

There are many badminton sets available from many manufacturers, such as Halex, Sportcraft, Franklin and Jacques, which may make it difficult to select the right one, but an easy test is to check the quality of the rackets and shuttlecocks. It seems like an obvious idea, but most people don’t realize that you may not get the same high quality with every badminton set. But a lot of manufacturers pay more attention to the poles and the net than they do the raquets and the shuttlecocks because that’s what most people tend to complain about the most – how difficult it is to set up the net and how sturdy it is once it’s up. Here are tips on what to look for when you’re buying a badminton set.

The Raquets – When choosing a Halex badminton set, or a set from any other manufacturer you won’t be able to switch out the rackets if you don’t like them. The rackets, the net poles, the net and the shuttlecocks are all included in one package. Look for a lightweight raquet made of aluminum or steel and the strings should all be evenly spaced, and of the same density, across the entire face of the raquet. Make sure the grip is well wrapped and that none of the bindings are loose.

Look at the Shuttlecock – A typical badminton set will include 2 or 4 shuttlecocks, usually made of a plastic and nylon combination or with genuine feathers. Feathers give you much better performance and accuracy however plastic shuttlecocks are much more durable. Neither of them will last forever though, so if you’re planning to get a lot of use out of your Halex badminton set, remember to pick up extra shuttlecocks along the way. Shuttlecocks also come in three different varieties – green for slow speed, blue for medium and red for fast. For most recreational players, a blue shuttlecock is the correct selection.
